Found round Objects

The following poem was inspired by a writing prompt to
"write about objects you love"

by Robin M Glassman

The streets are paved with
silver
washers and rusted screws
From construction sites long gone.

The body trembles gleefully as I

Rescue these jewels from city sewers,

Discarded plastic lids and bottle caps,
Brightly color coded
Blues, yellows, and reds.
Reside in my new favorite
Cylindrical clear plastic
Talenti gelato containers.

Even hula hoops, drum skins,
record albums and CDs,
Live in my studio cosmos.

An oasis of objects
slugging about amidst
drawing scraps and
wires and
whatnots.

Wondering and wandering
within arms reach.
Flowing, failing, flailing and
yes, free falling.
